MILADO Art Gallery presents Architecture Becomes Art -
Artist Talk with Tamara Jovandic-Everson exploring how her love of architecture was instilled by her late father, the prominent Sarajevo architect Slobodan Jovandić, whose outstanding Brutalist architecture has left a lasting mark on cities across the former Yugoslavia.
Slobodan Jovandić came from the Le Corbusier school of architecture, and his professor was Juraj Neidhardt, who was Le Corbusier’s only paid assistant in Paris at the time.
In conversation with close friend and architect Tim Gough, Tamara will reflect on how this early influence became deeply intertwined with her own work, particularly in her powerful Sisyphus series, where architecture becomes a psychological and philosophical space - a place where human memory and the built environment come together.
