ROSA Botanical Art Fair is a brand-new and ambitious event by Sussex Arts, bringing together leading galleries, artists, and designers from across the UK for a special exhibitions in the historic Estate House, a sculpture garden, and contemporary floristry installations.
At the ROSA Botanical Art Fair artist Olga Prinku will introduce her first two square artworks inspired by windows. Olga explores the idea of the threshold between indoors and outdoors, contrasting the organic branching patterns found throughout the natural world with the straight lines and enclosed spaces of the shelters we build for ourselves.
While Outside In evokes a sense of how nature envelopes the structures we humans create, Inside Out uses skeletal leaves to accentuate the theme of how underlying organic structures often go unnoticed.
Together these two pieces invite reflection on the nature of the transition from interior comfort to wild organic complexity. Using foraged silver birch twigs, they form part of Olga’s Graft Series of artworks.
Tatiana Fetisova has been exploring a new body of work titled Sweet Artificiality, which reflects on the rapid normalisation of AI and the subtle ways technology is reshaping our lives, questioning wether its right for us to follow.
Through the recurring motif of balloons - a signature element of her practice - symbols of beauty, fragility, and artificiality, the works evoke a sense of suspended uncertainty. In contrast, she places insects as markers of life and mortality, grounding the compositions in biological reality. For her debut at the ROSA Botanical Art Fair Tatiana prepared four new oil paintings. One of them, Drawn To The Light, 2026, has been selected to showcase in the Old Library of the West Dean House as a part of the curated exhibition Flora Mythica.
Marina Altukhova brings to the fair fresh paintings of cherry blossoms, inspired by the blooming gardens and parks of London in spring.
